Claudio Buono’s story is one of dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Born in Argentina, Claudio moved to New Jersey as a teenager, where he was introduced to the world of Italian-American pizzerias. It was there, under the guidance of his uncle and alongside skilled pizza makers in some of Jersey’s most respected pizzerias, that Claudio began to master his craft.
For years, Claudio worked tirelessly, learning everything there was to know about making exceptional pizza – from crafting the perfect dough to balancing ingredients with precision. These lessons formed the foundation of what would later become Claudio’s Pizzeria.
In the early 1990s, Claudio and his wife, Debi, decided to start a new chapter in Winchester, Virginia. Recognizing a need for high-quality, authentic pizza in the area, they opened Claudio’s Pizzeria in 1994. Bringing the traditions and techniques Claudio perfected in New Jersey, they set out to create something special: a neighborhood pizzeria built on attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and an unwavering commitment to high standards.
From day one, Claudio’s Pizzeria has operated with one simple principle: every pizza we make represents who we are. Whether it’s ensuring every ingredient meets our rigorous standards or treating each customer like a part of the family, we’re dedicated to getting it right every time. That same commitment extends beyond the kitchen, from the way we run our business to the way we support our community.
For over 30 years, Claudio’s Pizzeria has stayed family-owned and operated, with a focus on maintaining the standards Claudio set from the very beginning. Every pizza reflects the lessons Claudio learned during his journey from Argentina to New Jersey to Winchester – a journey built on experience, tradition, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence.
